Public transportation on Crete is very affordable and an interesting way to explore the island of Crete. Every half-hour you can take the public bus towards Heraklion, Kokkini Hani, Amnissos, Kato Gouves, Analipsi, Chersonissos, Stalida, Malia, Neapoli, Agios Nikolaos and Sitia.

You can buy your ticket on the bus, but in the bigger cities like Heraklion, Agios Nikolaos, Sitia, Rethimnon and Chania you must buy your ticket at the bus station.
